Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska, seeks a Power Program Manager to lead planning and execution of power generation, renewable energy, and related projects for our clients.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and serve as the primary liaison with clients and subcontractors, delivering value and clarity.

Travel is expected about 25% as you guide programs from inception through closeout within HDR's employee‑owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Sciences, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 3–5+ years in program/project management for large capital programs (various thresholds) or 10+ years with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience leading programs with large capital values and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with client-facing experience.
  • Familiar with alternative delivery methods (DB, PDB, CMAR).

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver power, generation, renewables, and related projects.
  • Serve as primary client contact for scope, contracts, performance, planning, and staffing.
  • Advise clients on technical, regulatory, and financial aspects of power programs.
  • Direct and manage HDR staff and subconsultants across disciplines.
  • Assess staffing needs and ensure resources meet contract scope and QA/QC goals.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and develop risk management plans.
  • Develop program management plans, processes, and tools to drive efficiency and transparency.
  • Collaborate with project controls to monitor scope, schedule, and budget against metrics.
  • Prepare monthly reports and dashboards for internal and client stakeholders.
  • Support business development with growth prospects and proposal inputs.
  • Travel on average 25%.
