Job summary

NRG Energy in the United States seeks a Plant Operator to ensure safe, efficient, reliable generation of electricity and steam by performing field duties and control-room operations. You'll inspect equipment, regulate turbines and HRSGs, manage startup/shutdown, monitor instrumentation, and respond to dispatcher orders, with emphasis on safety, LOTO and compliance.

This role requires 0–3 years in a power plant, a high school diploma or GED, and progression toward CRO qualification, with DOT

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of Plant Operator experience (or equivalent) in a power plant environment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, LOTO, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret instrument readings and troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, and monitor power plant equipment to maintain safe, efficient plant performance.
• In the control room, operate HMIs/panels to regulate turbines, generators, HRSGs, and auxiliary equipment.
• Execute plant startup, shutdown, and load control; perform emergency operations to maintain electric service.
