NRG Energy is seeking a Plant Operator to ensure safe and reliable generation of electricity and steam. You will perform field and control-room tasks, monitor HMIs, and execute startup/shutdown with load control while adhering to safety and environmental requirements.

Ideal candidates have up to 3 years of plant operator experience, a high school diploma or GED, and are willing to complete required CRO qualifications and DOT prerequisites as part of a structured career progression.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years of Plant Operator experience in a power plant or equivalent.
• Must complete CRO qualification card and participate in the progression pathway.
• DOT program requirements, including pre-employment drug screen and background checks.

Responsabilidades

• Operate, inspect, and monitor power plant equipment to ensure safe, efficient performance.
• In the control room, regulate turbines/generators and associated auxiliaries; manage startup/shutdown and load control.
• Maintain CRO/shift logs and respond to dispatcher orders in real time.
• Follow LOTO procedures and perform routine samples and tests; document data and support maintenance staff.
