Job summary

Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Inc. seeks an Auxiliary Operator to support the facility control room in operating and inspecting power plant systems for safe, efficient disposal processes.

Responsibilities include monitoring boilers and auxiliary equipment, reading meters, sampling water, and operating heavy industrial machinery. Requires a HS diploma, 2–3 years’ experience, rotating shifts, and a MA Fireman license or higher.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years’ experience operating heavy industrial equipment preferred.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule and on-call shift coverage.
• 2nd MA Fireman license or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems and associated equipment.
• Read data from meters and gauges to identify trends and disruptions.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment and perform water treatment sampling.
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment (cranes, skid steers, forklifts).
• Carry out other duties to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
