Job summary

NAES Milford Power Plant is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to support safe, reliable 24/7 combined-cycle operations. You will monitor equipment, perform rounds, document conditions, and assist with maintenance tasks and SOP development.

The role requires a strong safety mindset and the ability to work with CMMS and in a team environment. Qualifications include two years in power plant operations, understanding of CCGT and water processes, and MA Second Class Engineer license eligibility within

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in power plant operations or maintenance.
• Understanding of CCGT and water process operations.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Basic PC skills for information processing and management.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
• Forklift and man-lift operation preferred.
• Massachusetts eligibility to sit for Second Class Engineer license within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant equipment to support safe, reliable combined-cycle operations.
• Maintain accurate shift logs and records.
• Perform regular equipment rounds and report abnormal conditions.
• Assist maintenance with inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and isolation.
• Assist in development, review, and implementation of SOPs and work instructions.
• Follow safety procedures, identify hazards, and take corrective actions.
• Document plant deficiencies and schedule tasks using CMMS.
• Complete required training and assist in mentoring others.
• Unload, handle, and transfer bulk chemicals safely; collect samples.
• Support start-up/shutdown activities with Control Room communication.
• Maintain housekeeping, fire protection, and security standards.
• Perform other duties to support plant reliability.
