Job summary

Reworld is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to work with our facility control room to operate and inspect power plant systems safely and efficiently, ensuring the operational effectiveness of Covanta’s industrial disposal process.

Responsibilities include monitoring boilers and auxiliary equipment, reading instrumentation to identify trends, and safely operating heavy mobile equipment. A high school diploma and 2–3 years of experience are required, with rotating shifts expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• 2–3 years’ experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
• Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures, including boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and other heavy industrial equipment.
• Monitor and inspect boiler plant auxiliary equipment such as pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices.
• Read meters, gauges, and measuring tools to identify trends or potential disruptions to operations.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Perform sampling, chemistry testing, and water treatment as required.
• Safely operate heavy mobile equipment such as cranes, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts.
• Maintain correct refuse-fuel levels and appropriate refuse mix in designated pits.
• Handle additional duties to ensure safety and efficiency.
