Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Power & Hardware Design Engineer to lead power systems for material handling at scale. You will standardize electrical distribution, advance safety practices, and drive hardware development across complex fulfillment center networks.

Responsibilities span system design, arc flash analysis, and collaboration with WWDE and Operations Engineering to deliver robust, scalable solutions. A strong background in NEC/NFPA and industry best practices is essential.

Qualifications

• Design, engineer, and optimize 3-phase power systems and distribution.
• Perform arc flash calculations and labeling per NFPA 70E/IEEE 1584.
• Develop electrical drawings: single-line diagrams, schedules, wiring plans.
• Ensure compliance with NEC/NFPA and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead power system design and standardization for material handling facilities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams on electrical interfaces and controls.
• Develop technical specifications for MDBs, PDPs, substations, and equipment.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive design reviews.
• Support multi-year roadmaps for system evolution and documentation.
