Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking an experienced Service Technician for Commercial Generators. The role focuses on ongoing maintenance and repair of generator and power distribution equipment, with responsibility for technical customer support on operation and maintenance matters.

The candidate will perform preventative maintenance, triennial checks, and on-site troubleshooting, while coordinating with on-site teams and the Product Support group to ensure service excellence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 3 years field experience servicing generator systems for Level II; 6 years for Level III; 10 years for Level IV.
• Experience with 500kW+ generator systems and related power distribution equipment.
• Proficient with preventative maintenance, paralleling switch gear, ATS repairs, and loadbanking equipment.

Responsibilities

• Travel daily to customer sites for maintenance and service.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support as required.
• Maintain and safeguard company equipment and tools.
• Perform battery installations and replacements.
• Execute preventative maintenance on contracted equipment.
• Interact with customers and communicate service status.
• Complete paperwork like Field Service Reports and Time Sheets.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
