Job summary

Atlantic Detroit Diesel-Allison (ADDA) in Latham, NY is seeking a Power Generation Sales Representative to grow generator equipment and maintenance service sales within our territory. You'll develop new customers and expand existing accounts, pursuing projects and building recurring service relationships.

The role combines field sales with technical aptitude, requiring prospecting, strong communication, and the ability to manage a sales pipeline.

Qualifications

• Experience in power generation, industrial equipment, technical sales, service sales, or outside sales preferred.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude with an interest in generators, engines, electrical systems, and related equipment.
• Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers.
• Self-motivation and the ability to manage a territory and sales pipeline.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop New Business: Prospect for new generator equipment and planned maintenance opportunities; Build relationships with customers and develop new accounts; Identify customer needs and recommend solutions; Grow existing accounts; Build and manage a sales pipeline in Salesforce; Represent ADDA at meetings, trade shows, and events.
• Sell Generator Equipment: Review RFQs, specs, and drawings; Develop configurations and pricing with factory and vendors; Prepare customer proposals with clarifications and deviations; Follow opportunities through the sales process; Coordinate technical docs and bid requirements; Build relationships with customers, manufacturers, and partners.
• Grow Planned Maintenance Sales: Develop new maintenance agreements for emergency and standby generators; Identify equipment and maintenance needs; Use a consultative approach to protect operations; Convert clients to long-term service relationships; Work with service and parts teams to support customers.
