Job summary

Florida Detroit Diesel Allison is seeking a Sales Rep - Power Generation with responsibility for selling diesel-powered generator sets to industrial, commercial, medical institutional and petrochemical markets. Limited local travel is required.

You will generate new accounts, service existing ones, analyze customer needs, and coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure timely delivery. Prior outside sales in power generation is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 3–7 years of related experience.
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
• Outside sales experience in the power generation market required.
• Must follow company pricing guidelines and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; JD Edwards experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Generate new customer accounts and service/maintain existing accounts.
• Analyze customer needs and match company products/services accordingly.
• Sell diesel powered generator sets, accessories and related equipment.
• Meet and forecast sales goals established by the department.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, production, purchasing and accounting to ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare bid specifications and negotiate proposals and contracts with customers.
