Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Lumberton, NC is seeking a Farm Supervisor to oversee broiler farms as a company representative with contracted growers. You will monitor house conditions and bird welfare, and provide technical assistance to improve performance and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years’ live poultry experience in a similar environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements surrounding animal welfare and food production.
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel) and math.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner.
• Must have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
• Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between Company and contract growers providing technical advice on expectations, building specs, litter, sanitation, biosecurity, and policies.
• Provide chick placement, catch and feed withdrawal times to growers.
• Monitor flocks to ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and laws; report noncompliance when needed.
• Track, analyze and record bird mortality; communicate anomalies to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain feed tank inventories and coordinate deliveries to growers in a timely manner.
• Follow and promote all safety initiatives to maintain a zero-accident culture.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
