Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms seeks a field supervisor to oversee broiler farms and act as a liaison between the company and contracted growers. You will monitor house conditions, bird welfare, and provide technical recommendations to improve conditions, grower performance, and reduce costs.

The role requires experience in poultry operations, knowledge of regulatory requirements, and strong communication skills to engage with growers and company personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years’ live poultry experience in a similar environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements surrounding animal welfare and food production.
• Strong computer (Word, Excel) and math skills.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
• Self-starter with initiative, sense of urgency, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between Company and contract growers providing technical advice to growers on company expectations (i.e. building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, farm sanitation, industry best practices, policies, procedures, bio security, etc.).
• Provide chick placement, catch and feed withdrawal times to growers.
• Monitor assigned flocks to ensure producers comply with company policies, procedures, regulatory guidelines and federal and State policies when handling poultry; report noncompliance and/or abnormalities to appropriate personnel.
• Track, analyze and record bird mortality rates, communicating anomalies to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Maintain feed tank inventories, ordering feed and coordinating deliveries to ensure proper feed is delivered to growers in a timely manner.
• Follow and promote all safety initiatives helping to maintain a zero accident culture.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
