Job summary

Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls seeks a Postpartum Registered Nurse to provide direct care in the Recovery and Postpartum setting for mothers and newborns. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, and communication with providers about clinical changes.

You will participate in performance improvement, teaching, and family-centered care, with requirements for Idaho RN license and standard certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current Idaho RN license.
• BLS Healthcare Provider within 2 weeks of hire.
• NRP, ACLS, & STABLE within 6 months of hire.
• BBNC within 12 months of hire.
• Complete Mother Baby and Infant feeding competency prior to orientation, and biannual skills labs thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age and condition.
• Provide family centered care for a postpartum mother and baby on the mother-baby unit.
• Assess neonate at delivery and perform neonatal resuscitation per guidelines.
• Perform vitals and initial admission and head-to-toe assessments on infants and adults.
• Implements a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness.
• Formulate and adjust individualized plans of care daily based on patient response.
• Provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan and interpret patient data.
• Communicate care issues clearly to charge nurse, coworkers and providers.
• Consult other departments for interdisciplinary care.
• Coordinate and supervise patient care as necessary.
