Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide expert nursing care for acutely ill patients. The nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while coordinating with the health care team and ensuring adherence to ANA standards.

Responsibilities include data analysis, individualized planning, care coordination, governance involvement, and evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes. IL RN license, BSN and BLS are required; ADN with BSN commitment is acceptable.

Qualifications

• BSN required for the role.
• Current IL RN license and BLS certification.
• ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, and develops an individualized plan.
• Directs care and coordinates use of any nursing assistants.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians, and staff; documents care plans.
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluates responses to interventions and updates the plan of care accordingly.
• Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
