Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide direct care to acutely ill patients, coordinating nursing care and applying ANA standards. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while collaborating with patients, families, physicians, and the health team.

You will participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects, documenting outcomes and using evidence to guide practice decisions.

Qualifications

• BSN required; ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of employment
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Strong analytic abilities

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops and implements a plan, coordinates care and evaluates progress
• Directs care and utilizes any involved assistants appropriately
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents plan and communications
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions and updates the care plan
• Uses best available evidence to guide practice decisions
