Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill patients. The role requires a BSN, active Illinois RN license, and BLS certification, with the ability to lead care planning and collaborate across the health team.

Responsibilities include data-driven care planning, coordinating care with physicians and staff, and documenting progress. Participation in governance, outcomes evaluation, and ongoing education is expected.

Qualifications

• BSN required or in progress with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of first day in clinical nurse role.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, and develops an individualized care plan.
• Directs care and utilizes nursing staff appropriately to provide direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians, and staff; documents plan and communicates decisions.
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses to interventions and updates the care plan accordingly.
• Uses evidence and research to guide nursing practice.
