Job summary

Exelon is seeking a Principal Business Program Manager to join Baltimore Gas and Electric’s Project Initiation Team. You will establish centralized risk ownership, visibility, and early-stage risk escalation for major Transmission and Substation capital projects.

You will lead cross-functional risk management practices, maintain standardized risk registers, and provide portfolio-level insights to govern capital forecasting, mitigation planning, and leadership escalation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a business or STEM field with 7-10 years relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes and practices, business fundamentals, and performance metrics in the specific functional area.
• Advanced proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint), and relevant specialized business applications (e.g., project portfolio management, requirements/test management, CIS/CRM, customer self-service, telephony, EPS, EAM, work management, & outage management).
• Demonstrated business acumen and ability to create value with advanced problem solving, financial/analytical, performance management, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team. Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, meet critical deadlines, communicate effectively, and foster culture change.
• Customer driven with demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with people of all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including new technology
• In lieu of degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and continuously improve PIT’s portfolio-wide project risk management framework, including risk identification practices and governance expectations.
• Lead structured risk identification with cross-functional stakeholders across Planning, Engineering, Project Controls, Finance, Investment Strategy, and others.
• Coordinate risk mitigation strategies to align risk exposure with capital planning and mitigation commitments.
• Track risk owners, mitigation commitments, aging risks, overdue actions, escalation items, and risks requiring leadership intervention.
• Develop, organize, and present portfolio-level risk reporting and executive narratives for leadership and governance forums.
• Drive risk management process improvement with templates, guidance, and training materials.
• Provide expert analytical and program management support to the Project Initiation Team with emphasis on portfolio risk management.
• Manage large and complex projects applying established PM principles; deliver on time and within budget.
