Job summary

Exelon's Baltimore-based unit seeks a Principal Business Program Manager to lead risk management for Transmission and Substation capital projects, coordinating with Planning, Engineering, Finance and Regulatory teams to ensure risk visibility and governance.

This role emphasizes front-end risk identification, standardized risk registers, and portfolio-level reporting to inform capital forecasting and mitigate risks before they impact execution. Strong cross-functional leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business or STEM field with 7–10 years relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of standards, methods, processes and metrics in the functional area.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong business acumen with problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholder interaction.
• In lieu of degree, 9–12 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve PIT's portfolio-wide project risk framework.
• Lead structured risk identification with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Coordinate risk mitigation strategies with Investment Strategy, Finance, and Engineering.
• Track risk owners, aging risks, escalation items, and deadlines.
• Develop portfolio risk reporting, dashboards, and executive narratives.
• Drive risk process improvement with templates and training.
• Provide analytics support to the Project Initiation Team.
• Manage large, complex projects delivering on time and below budget.
