Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Policy Strategist to expand impact within government. You will work across product, design, and engineering to translate Medicaid policy into decisions, workflows, and user experiences for an integrated eligibility platform.

You will research federal and state requirements, articulate practical recommendations, help teams prioritize policy work, engage with stakeholders, support advocacy strategy, and contribute to policy-focused artifacts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in policy analysis or equivalent.
• Experience researching and interpreting policy using statutes, regulations, or guidance.
• Strong ability to build and nurture relationships with internal teams and external partners.
• Self-directed and comfortable working independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in policy contexts.
• Understanding of public programs, multi-level government.
• Ability to document research processes clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences.
• Identify regulatory constraints and ambiguities; propose compliant solutions balancing compliance and UX.
• Create artifacts (policy briefs, decision frameworks, processes) to support decisions.
• Support testing and validation of policy implementations (scenarios/edge cases).
• Conduct landscape research on evolving policies and implications for tech/engagement.
• Synthesize research for diverse audiences (internal/external).
• Build relationships with external partners to exchange implementation lessons.
• Contribute to advocacy strategy development and execution.
