Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Policy Strategist to translate policy into actionable decisions for an integrated eligibility platform. You will work across product, design, and engineering to ensure compliant, effective systems grounded in real-world policy and program operations.

You will analyze Medicaid policy, research federal and state requirements, and guide colleagues on priorities and approaches. This role emphasizes collaboration, independence, and impact on public services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in policy analysis or combined graduate-level education and experience.
• Experience researching and interpreting policy using statutes/regulations.
• Ability to communicate policy findings clearly to diverse audiences.
• Strong relationship-building with internal teams and external partners.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to document research processes, findings, and recommendations clearly.

Responsibilities

• Translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences with cross-functional teams.
• Identify regulatory constraints, risks, and ambiguities and propose compliant, user-friendly solutions.
• Create artifacts (policy briefs, frameworks, flows) to support decisions and prioritization.
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation, including edge-case testing.
• Conduct landscape research across jurisdictions and translate into implementation implications.
• Synthesize research into clear written and verbal communications for diverse audiences.
• Build relationships with external partners to share Nava’s policy expertise.
• Contribute to advocacy strategy development and execution.
