Job summary

Leech Lake Band Of Ojibwe (LLTPD) is seeking a Dispatch Communications Specialist to provide direct communication with Police Officers and other law enforcement agencies, handling calls for police, fire, ambulance and LLTPD services from the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 18+ years of age, and training in Radio Communications and Emergency Medical Dispatch.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Radio Communications and Emergency Medical Dispatch training.
Must have the ability to accept constructive criticism.
Must have no domestic assault or felony convictions.
Good verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
Must remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
Incidents handling training and policy adherence expected.

Responsibilities

Answer telephone calls to determine nature of police, fire or medical assistance.
Maintain message logs and deliver messages to appropriate personnel.
Ensure radio transmissions are answered promptly and courteously.
Coordinate calls for service with LLTPD Officers and county partners.
Dispatch Officers and other units as required and post to dispatch log.
Maintain confidentiality and professional work ethic.
Attend mandatory trainings and be available for rotating shifts.
Travel as needed and interact respectfully with tribal members.
