Job summary

Moapa Band of Paiutes is seeking a Police Dispatcher to serve as the primary contact for the Police Department. The role handles emergency and non‑emergency calls, dispatches officers, and maintains precise records while coordinating with fire and EMS as needed.

The successful candidate will manage CAD systems and radios, stay calm under pressure, and communicate effectively with diverse communities. A high school diploma or GED is required, with higher education or certifications preferred, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in administrative, clerical, or dispatch roles (court or law enforcement preferred).
• Knowledge of tribal court procedures, legal terminology, and public safety protocols (or willingness to learn).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dispatch software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; professional interaction with diverse individuals.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high‑pressure environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate records.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls via phone, radio, or other systems.
• Dispatch police officers and coordinate with fire/EMS as needed.
• Maintain logs of all communications, incidents, and officer activities.
• Provide clear, concise, timely information to officers in the field.
• Monitor and track officer locations to ensure safety and effective response.
• Operate CAD systems, radios, and other communication equipment.
• Assist with incident reporting and information for law enforcement personnel.
• Stay calm under pressure in high‑stress situations.
