Job summary

Jasper Engines & Transmissions is seeking associates to operate a soda/media blaster, inspect and repair parts for final cleaning and assembly. You will use orbital sander, bench grinder, welding torch, and other hand tools, demanding detail and dexterity.

Starting rate is $20.00/hr with wage increases based on performance. Shift is Mon-Fri, 6:30am–3:00pm. Benefits include climate-controlled environment, onsite fitness center, medical clinic, and ESOP/401(k).

Qualifications

• The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs.
• The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (8–10 hours).
• The ability to use handheld tools such as orbital sander, bench grinder, hammer, drill.
• Walking: Occasionally.
• Stooping (forward leaning): Occasionally.
• Reaching/Working Overhead: Occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Use soda/media blaster to remove dirt or rust from parts.
• Load parts onto a cart, then inspect and repair for final cleaning and assembly.
• Repair worn bolt holes, weld cracks, and sand/grind parts to a smooth finish.
• Order non-salvageable parts using a computer.
• Position requires computer use and problem-solving; TIG and stick welding experience preferred.

Job description

Job Overview: Associates will utilize a soda/media blaster to remove any excess dirt or rust. The parts are then loaded onto a cart. Then the product will be inspected and repaired to be ready for final cleaning and assembly.

This individual must be detail oriented along with having strong hand dexterity. Associates utilize various tools such as an orbital sander, bench grinder, welding torch, etc. They repair worn bolt holes, weld cracks, sand and grind parts to a smooth finish, and many other small part repairs to return them to new condition. Parts that are not salvageable must be ordered using a computer. The position will require computer usage and problem-solving skills along with preferred tig and stick welding experience.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
