Job summary

JASPER Engines & Transmissions is seeking a Gas – POD 10 Welder to support our Indianapolis-area operation. The role involves blasting, inspecting, and repairing parts for final cleaning and assembly, with emphasis on precision, dexterity, and hand tools.

The successful candidate will operate a welding torch, perform minor fabrications, and use a computer to order replacement parts. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must stand/walk entire shift (8–10 hours).
• Experience with welding (tig or stick) preferred.
• Detail orientation and strong hand dexterity.
• Computer usage for ordering parts.

Responsibilities

• Remove dirt/rust with soda/media blaster and prepare parts for cleaning and assembly.
• Load parts on cart, inspect and repair to be ready for final cleaning and assembly.
• Use tools such as orbital sander, bench grinder, welding torch during repair work.
• Repair worn bolt holes, weld cracks, sand and grind parts to a smooth finish.
• Order salvageable parts using a computer.

Job Overview

Gas – POD 10 Welder Job Overview: Associates will utilize a soda/media blaster to remove any excess dirt or rust. The parts are then loaded onto a cart. Then the product will be inspected and repaired to be ready for final cleaning and assembly.This individual must be detail oriented along with having strong hand dexterity. Associates utilize various tools such as an orbital sander, bench grinder, welding torch, etc. They repair worn bolt holes, weld cracks, sand and grind parts to a smooth finish, and many other small part repairs to return them to new condition. Parts that are not salvageable must be ordered using a computer. The position will require computer usage and problem-solving skills along with preferred tig and stick welding experience.Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pmOvertime available

• Starting rate $20.00 + based on experience.
