Job summary

Festival Express Market - Paddock Lake is seeking a Center Store Assistant Manager-PM to provide operational and leadership support across Grocery, Frozen/Dairy, Natural & Organic, and Health & Beauty Care/General Merchandise. The role flexes with daily business needs and partners with Center Store leadership to maintain standards, inventory, pricing, and guest service.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of leadership experience in retail, grocery, warehouse, or restaurant preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the retail food business, especially non-perishable department operations, and strong merchandising skills.
• Familiarity with store operations and the ability to coordinate with store and vendor teams.
• Ability to make timely decisions, communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment, and manage a diverse team.
• Understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, with ability to recognize hazards.
• Proper training and knowledge of equipment such as hand jacks, balers, forklifts, hand trucks, and trash compactors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Support Center Store departments, adapting based on daily business needs.
• Ensure Leadership Continuity: Step in and lead teams in the absence of Center Store Manager(s).
• Train Associates: Coach and retrain associates to ensure high performance and guest service.
• Meet Department Standards: Maintain inventory levels, pricing, and cleanliness.
• Communicate and Collaborate: Work with Store Director, managers, and staff to exceed guest expectations.
• Verify Timekeeping: Ensure accurate timekeeping and address scheduling issues with HR.
• Provide Helpful Guest Service: Assist with product location, special orders, and guest questions.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep departments and work areas orderly and clean.
• Deliver Feedback: Conduct performance reviews and address policy violations with management/HR.
• Cashier Trained: Ready to assist at register and support closing procedures.
• Honor Commitments: Maintain regular attendance and plan replacements as needed.
• Support the Team: Other duties as assigned.
