The role supports afternoon and night shift operations, maintains inventory and pricing, and ensures excellent guest experiences with a collaborative team.

The position emphasizes training and coaching associates, stepping in for the Center Store Manager when needed, and upholding department standards, safety, and service excellence

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of leadership experience in retail, grocery, warehouse, or restaurant preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the retail food business, especially non-perishable department operations, and strong merchandising skills.
• Familiarity with store operations and the ability to coordinate effectively with store and vendor teams.
• Ability to make timely and effective decisions, communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment, and manage a diverse team.
• Understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, with the ability to recognize and react to possible safety hazards.
• Proper training and knowledge of equipment such as hand jacks, balers, forklifts, hand trucks, and trash compactors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Center Store departments, adapting based on daily business needs.
• Step in and lead teams in the absence of Center Store Manager(s).
• Train, coach, and re-train associates to ensure high performance.
• Maintain department standards including inventory levels, pricing, and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with Store Director, department managers, and associates to exceed guest expectations.
• Verify timekeeping and communicate scheduling issues to HR.
• Assist guests with product location, special orders, and guest questions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department and work areas.
• Contribute to performance reviews and corrective actions with management and HR.
• Be ready to assist at the register or during store closing procedures.
