Plumbing Technicians perform repair and preventive maintenance duties of
plumbing systems and associated fixtures. Plumbing Technicians are part
of our Maintenance department, which has a robust professional

and inclusion. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Perform repair and
preventive maintenance work on various plumbing fixtures and systems. 2.
Respond to and repair emergency plumbing problems, to include water
pipe, faucet, natural gas or ceiling leaks. Will also repair and clear
water/sewer problems. 3. Estimate, schedule and work to completion,
routine and special projects related to job responsibilities. 4.
Maintain tools, equipment and material inventories required to execute
job responsibilities. 5. Coordinate work schedules with building
occupants/department personnel. 6. Meet and assist various contractors
in the coordination of project work. 7. Communicate with building
departments or personnel regarding water, waste, or natural gas
distribution interruptions. Provide temporary services as needed. 8.
Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Must also have the
ability to stand, climb stairs, bend and kneel for extended periods of
time. 9. In the course of performing work, adheres to all safety
procedures including lock-out/tag-out procedures, MSDS safety warnings,
Required Personal Protection Equipment, And OSHA Requirements. Advises
supervisor of any unsafe work conditions encountered and/or conditions
found in equipment that could pose hazards to others. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A high school diploma. 4 to 6 years of trades experience with emphasis
on industrial, commercial, and institutional plumbing application is
required. Must have strong written communication and record keeping
Skills. Specific Experience In Basic Carpentry, Wall/floor Tile,
ceiling, and roof construction as well as strong mechanical ability.
Must have knowledge of safe working practices. Must possess a vali
driver\'s license with a satisfactory driving record. Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of plumbing system maintenance, repairs, and
operational principles, control strategies. Understanding of common
federal, state, and local codes and regulations pertaining to
maintenance and operation of plumbing systems and equipment.
Occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades. Skills and
Abilities Understand and follow safety procedures such as lock-out
tag-out, fall protection and use of personal protective equipment. Read
and understand work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, check lists,
equipment operations and maintenance manuals, specifications, material
safety data sheets, equipment prints and diagrams, sketches, floor
plans, and controls sequences of operations. Calibrate, maintain, and
install mixing valve and water heater controls. Perform troubleshooting
of natural gas and electric water heater and food service booster heater
controls. Use multimeter to perform testing of, fuses, heating elements,
thermostats, temperature sensors, and other electrical components
associated with domestic water systems. Operate computer programs used
in tracking and executing preventive maintenance work and programs.
Offer suggestions for improvements to work control automation strategies
to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the repair and
maintenance program in the field. Must be able to work in cramped spaces
for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks in spaces
with temperature extremes. Must be able to work at heights using
ladders, scaffolding and aerial work platforms such as Scissor lifts,
And Telescoping Push Around Lifts. Preferred Knowledge, Skills And
Abilities Associate\'s degree desirable. Participation in technical
training courses involving domestic water systems is desirable.
