Job summary

Happy Home seeks a Plumbing Sales/Commercial Estimator to generate new business, build lasting relationships, and convert opportunities into signed work through accurate, competitive estimates. The role blends technical plumbing knowledge with consultative selling, on-site evaluations, and presenting options to customers.

The ideal candidate is comfortable in crawl spaces and across from homeowners or property managers, earning trust and closing deals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of plumbing industry experience (field, service, or sales) required.
• Proven success in sales, estimating, or customer-facing roles — in-home or trade sales experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately scope and price plumbing jobs, read plans when needed, and explain technical work.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass background check.
• Plumbing license or journeyman card a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through referrals, networking, and leads.
• Build relationships with homeowners, property managers, builders, general contractors, and commercial accounts.
• Represent the company at trade events, home shows, and community functions as a trusted plumbing advisor.
• Maintain a sales pipeline and meet monthly/quarterly targets.
• Follow up on proposals and past customers to maximize close rates and customer value.
• Perform on-site evaluations of residential and light commercial plumbing projects, including repairs and repipes.
• Prepare accurate estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and permits.
• Present options (good/better/best) to help customers choose solutions.
• Coordinate with service manager and field techs after sale.
• Track win/loss results and adjust pricing accordingly.
• Serve as primary contact for customers from first visit to completion.
• Document all customer interactions and sales activity in CRM/field mgmt system.
