Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer in its Boston office. You will lead design efforts for energy-efficient buildings, collaborating with Fire Protection and Plumbing Engineers on multiple projects.

A self-motivated engineer with strong problem-solving skills is essential to succeed from design through construction administration. The role requires knowledge of life-safety and building codes, proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering.
• 5+ years of plumbing and fire protection design experience.
• PE or EIT preferred; ability to travel nationwide.
• Strong communication and coordination with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing and fire protection systems from design through construction administration.
• Produce detailed layouts and equipment details for fire protection systems.
• Develop life safety, fire alarm, and sprinklers plans with calculations and specs.
• Read blueprints, review submittals, and ensure conformance with codes.
• Collaborate with owners, clients, and architects; mentor staff.
