Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Plumber Technician to oversee plumbing systems on federal construction projects, ensuring IPC and UFC compliance from review through commissioning.

You will inspect installations, conduct testing, and provide technical recommendations while coordinating with project managers, engineers, contractors, and government representatives on Fort Hood and related sites. Requires a valid plumbing license and 10+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; plumbing training preferred.
• Valid Plumbing License required.
• Minimum 10 years in plumbing installation, inspection, testing, or construction oversight.
• Thorough knowledge of IPC, UFC, and applicable plumbing standards.
• Experience reviewing plans, specifications, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Experience with federal/DoD/military construction projects preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain access to military installations.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of International Plumbing Codes and UFC requirements.
• Attend meetings to discuss project features for success.
• Perform plan in hand reviews with teammates.
• Schedule and conduct plumbing inspections across pre-, during, and post-construction.
• Evaluate work practices for compliance with codes and contract requirements.
• Prepare detailed technical reports with corrective actions.
• Provide guidance on changes to work practices and designs.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance tests of plumbing systems.
• Review submittals and respond to RFIs and field changes.
