Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Plumber Technician to oversee plumbing systems on federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX. You will review installations, ensure compliance with IPC/UFC and contract requirements, and perform inspections and testing with project teams.

Responsibilities include preparing technical reports, scheduling final acceptance tests, and coordinating with engineers, contractors, and government representatives to ensure safe, compliant installations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; plumbing training preferred.
• Valid Plumbing License is required to perform the role.
• At least 10 years of experience in plumbing installation, inspection, or related construction oversight.
• Thorough knowledge of IPC, UFC, and applicable plumbing standards.
• Experience reviewing plans, specifications, shop drawings, and technical docs.
• Experience with inspections, acceptance testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems.
• Experience supporting federal/DoD/military construction projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review plumbing system installations for compliance with codes and contract requirements.
• Inspect and test plumbing systems during pre-, during-, and post-construction.
• Provide technical recommendations throughout construction process.
• Attend meetings with project managers, engineers, contractors, and government reps.
• Prepare detailed reports and corrective actions for deficient conditions.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance tests of plumbing systems.
• Review submittals and provide constructive comments.
• Respond to RFIs and review scopes for field changes.
• Advise on changes to work practices, facility design, and plumbing features.
