Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Plumber Technician to provide technical oversight, inspection, and QA for plumbing systems on federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas. The role ensures installations meet IPC/UFC standards and contract requirements, conducts testing, and offers technical recommendations throughout the construction process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical plumbing training preferred.
• Valid plumbing license required.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in plumbing installation, inspection, testing, or construction oversight.
• Thorough knowledge of IPC, UFC, and applicable plumbing standards.
• Experience reviewing construction plans, specifications, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Experience conducting inspections, acceptance testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems.
• Experience supporting federal, DoD, USACE, or military construction projects preferred.
• OSHA 10- or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain access to military installations.
• Must be a US citizen and pass a federal background review and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of International Plumbing Codes and UFC requirements.
• Attend meetings to discuss features of work for project success.
• Perform BCOES and plan in hand reviews with teammates.
• Schedule and conduct plumbing inspections across all project phases.
• Inspect documentation for compliant plumbing systems.
• Evaluate work practices for conformance to codes and contract requirements.
• Prepare detailed technical reports with corrective actions.
• Provide guidance on work practices and design changes.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance tests of plumbing systems.
• Review submittals and provide comments to ensure proper installation.
• Respond to RFIs and review scopes of work for field changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
