Applegreen operates travel plazas across the Northeast and Midwest, delivering convenient food and services to travelers. Plaza Director leads day-to-day operations, driving profitability, customer satisfaction, and brand standards across a multi-million-dollar plaza, while building strong teams.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, team development, and collaboration with partners to ensure fast, friendly service and adherence to company policies and laws across the site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven multi-unit or big-box leadership experience.
• Willing to work on-site ~50 hours per week including variable shifts.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift at least 20 pounds.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven cost control and quality standards.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of associates and plaza leadership to meet sales and service targets.
• Monitor progress toward financial and performance objectives; implement strategic changes.
• Ensure all food/beverage concepts meet brand standards.
• Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and development.
• Recruit, develop, and retain strong plaza teams.
• Handle hiring, coaching, promotion, disciplinary actions, and transfers.
• Supervise leadership team to achieve goals and manage reports.
• Ensure compliance with policies and laws.
• Collaborate with Brand Partners, HR, Loss Prevention, Finance, Facilities.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and communities.
