Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking a hands-on, data-driven technology leader to direct a large Platform Engineering team focused on SRE, observability, and cloud reliability. You will partner with a central architecture function and a dedicated SRE group to drive resilience, reduce toil, and improve performance in a regulated financial services setting.

You will own SLO/SLAs, champion Golden Signals, and guide IaC and cloud-platform investments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading engineering teams, with a track record of building high-performing cultures.
• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering with AWS and large-scale cloud environments.
• Proven ability to mature SRE/observability at scale and raise the bar for reliability.
• Strong experience defining and governing SLOs/SLAs and practicing chaos/load testing.
• Data-driven decision making, with strong analytics and delivery metrics.
• Excellent communication with business and technical leaders across the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and managers focusing on SRE, observability, and cloud platform engineering.
• Drive hiring, staffing, coaching, and performance evaluations; manage budgets and timelines.
• Define roadmaps for observability capabilities and drive SLO/SLAs across the platform.
• Own and report platform reliability metrics (DORA, MTTR, change lead time) and promote continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with architecture function to align platform decisions with standards and direction.
