Job summary

OCC is seeking a senior individual contributor to drive reliability, observability, and cloud platform engineering across a large, complex cloud environment. The role emphasizes hands-on technical leadership, data-driven decision making, and mentoring across teams in a compliance-heavy setting.

You will partner with SRE/monitoring and architecture teams to raise the bar on SLOs, incident response, and platform metrics, while advancing IaC adoption and scalable, secure stacks.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive, hands-on software engineering with AWS
• Hands-on SRE and observability expertise at scale
• Data-driven reliability culture and waste reduction
• Define/ instrument delivery metrics (DORA, lead time, deploy freq)
• Strong communication/analytical skills across US teams
• Informal mentorship and cross-team influence
• Experience adopting new technologies for mission-critical systems
• Ability to communicate to leaders, architects, developers
• Product ownership for observability with platform tooling ownership split
• Experience with IaC and cloud platform governance

Responsibilities

• Elevate observability and reliability across platform engineering in partnership with SRE team
• Mentor engineers informally and raise the bar on SLOs/SLIs and incident response
• Own roadmap for observability while SRE team holds tooling ownership
• Drive platform delivery metrics (DORA, cycle time, MTTR) and continuous improvement
• Champion IaC practices and automated provisioning across cloud platform
• Translate reliability signals into platform investments and roadmaps
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, scalable infra
• Plan capacity and forecast resource needs for cloud platform
• Communicate issues and recommendations to senior management
