Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking an Associate Principal who will partner with business analysts, leads, and developers to architect and build scalable hybrid cloud solutions for risk management. You will mentor teams, drive data-driven strategy, and ensure high-quality software in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include designing high-performance applications, leading SDLC adherence, and performing risk analyses.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building large-scale, compute- and event-driven solutions.
• Proficient in Java 8+ and OO design with multithreading.
• Experience with distributed messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Kinesis).
• Familiar with cloud technologies and AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, IAM).
• Knowledge of Spark, Kafka Streams, Flink or similar.
• Ability to write unit/integration tests with JUnit/Citrus.
• Experience with Git workflows and DevOps tooling (Terraform/Ansible/Jenkins/Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Splunk/Elasticsearch/Prometheus).

Responsibilities

• Participate in design of scalable, secure, cost-optimized solutions.
• Lead development of next-gen clearing applications within architecture framework and Agile.
• Analyze requirements, develop, test and document software quality.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC and architectural standards.
• Perform code reviews and write tests for quality assurance.
• Contribute to risk analysis and quality improvements.
• Support production with guidance on system functionality and fixes.
• Mentor developers and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
