The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking an Associate Principal to drive architecture and scalable hybrid cloud-based solutions for risk management. You will mentor teams, lead architecture design, and collaborate with product owners to transform the enterprise into a data-driven organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building large-scale, compute and event-driven solutions.
• Java 8+ experience; strong OO design and multi-threading.
• Experience with distributed messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Kinesis).
• Cloud tech experience; AWS foundation services knowledge.
• Knowledge of Spark/Flink and data processing frameworks a plus.
• Ability to write high-quality code with >90% unit/integration tests.
• Familiarity with Git workflows and DevOps tooling.
• Experience with diverse databases and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner with analysts, leads and developers to design scalable hybrid cloud solutions.
• Mentor and collaborate to drive data-driven enterprise transformation.
• Lead architecture discussions and ensure SDLC quality and security compliance.
• Perform code reviews, write tests, and manage risk analysis.
• Support production with system functionality and fixes as needed.
• Communicate delays or defects clearly to teams and management.
