Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Platform Operations Engineer to drive change safety across our large-scale network deployments. This role focuses on improving processes, tools, and documentation while coordinating with the Change Safety Optimization team to ensure consistent workflows.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex issues, implementing efficiency improvements, and maintaining strong cross-team relationships. Office-based in Cambridge, MA with a flexible working program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant related technical field or its equivalent.
• Experience administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment.
• Proficient with Linux/Unix systems and understanding of SQL and scripting languages.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, WAN and DNS networking.
• Strong communication and problem-solving in a changing environment.
• Must undergo or possess and maintain USG Tier 3 background check.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in area of specialty
• Identifying and implementing process and efficiency improvements in favor of change safety
• Improving tools, alerts, documentation, and procedures in favor of change safety
• Maintaining positive relationships across the teams
• Collaborating with our global Change Safety Optimization team to maintain consistent workflows across the group
• Working 4:30pm - 12:30am Eastern Time on Monday through Friday in the Cambridge, Massachusetts office
