Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Platform Operations Engineer to support the Change Safety Deployment team.

You will help deploy large-scale changes safely, improve existing processes, and act as a point person for issues on the deployed network. You will collaborate with global teams to maintain consistent workflows, contribute to incident reduction initiatives, and troubleshoot customer-facing issues related to changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or its equivalent.
• Experience administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment.
• Experience with Linux/Unix, SQL and scripting languages.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, WAN and DNS networking technologies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must pass or possess and maintain a USG Tier 3 background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in area of specialty
• Identifying and implementing process and efficiency improvements in favor of change safety
• Improving tools, alerts, documentations, and procedures in favor of change safety
• Maintaining positive relationships across the teams
• Collaborating with our global Change Safety Optimization team to maintain consistent workflows across the group
• Working 4:30pm - 12:30am Eastern Standard Time on Monday through Friday in the Cambridge, Massachusetts office
