Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a hands-on Manager, Platform Engineering for our On-Premise Infrastructure team. You will lead the design, deployment, and operation of OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters in private data centers and drive automation and IaC initiatives.

You’ll balance people management with active technical contributions, shaping engineering culture and best practices across our Software Enterprise division. Strong leadership and deep platform knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

Deep Linux administration and container orchestration knowledge.
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in Network/Platform Engineering or Systems Architecture.
Experience with L3/L4 networking, firewalls, and on‑prem storage protocols.
Strong scripting in Python and Shell for automation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with curiosity.
Effective communication for nontechnical audiences.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture design and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
Oversee deployment of OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters in private data centers.
Direct implementation of L3/L4 networking and software-defined storage.
Define and meet scalability, availability, and security goals for local environments.
Collaborate with Product Management and engineers to evolve major platform features.
Support governance reviews and security compliance processes.
