Job summary
JPMorgan Chase is seeking a senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer to design and operate an on‑premises OpenShift platform that hosts containers and VMs. You will own cluster foundations, compute, storage, security, and reliability to enable product teams to deploy workloads safely at scale.
The role emphasizes platform lifecycle management, vendor integrations, and strong collaboration with security, hardware, networking, and platform consumers to drive resilient, auditable operations.
Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts.
- 5+ years of applied infrastructure engineering experience in large environments.
- Hands-on OpenShift and Kubernetes in production (IPI/UPI, Operators, SCC/RBAC).
- Experience with VM-on-Kubernetes and platform lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Design OpenShift cluster architectures (on-prem/hybrid) for availability and security.
- Build and operate OpenShift clusters end-to-end including VM lifecycles.
- Engineer platform to support Kubernetes and VM workloads, incl. capacity planning and HA/DR.
- Manage Linux platform fundamentals and identity integration for reliable ops.
- Implement and troubleshoot core networking, storage, and security controls.
- Drive reliability through observability, incident response and root-cause analysis.
- Develop runbooks and reference architectures; lead readiness reviews.
