Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a senior lead infrastructure engineer to own an on-prem OpenShift-based platform hosting containers and VMs.

You will design, implement, and operate cluster foundations, compute, networking, storage, and security, enabling product teams to deploy workloads safely and efficiently. You will lead lifecycle management for OpenShift, Kubernetes, and VM capabilities, partner with security, networking, and platform teams, and apply AI-guided analysis with strict governance

Qualifications

5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
Hands-on OpenShift and Kubernetes administration in production.
Experience with VM-on-Kubernetes via OpenShift Virtualization or KubeVirt.
Strong Linux administration, OS tuning, and certificates handling.
Ability to design highly available platforms with capacity planning.
Experience with infrastructure automation and GitOps patterns.
Security hardening with RBAC, secrets management, and vulnerability handling.
Ability to validate AI-assisted recommendations and maintain auditability.

Responsibilities

Design OpenShift cluster architectures (on-premises/hybrid) for availability and security.
Build and operate OpenShift clusters end-to-end including upgrades and scaling.
Run VM and container platforms, manage VM lifecycle and hardware acceleration concepts.
Engineer platform for Kubernetes workloads and VM workloads, including HA/DR.
Own Linux platform fundamentals and cluster node operations.
Implement core networking, DNS, load balancing, and security controls.
Integrate and manage storage for container and VM workloads (CSI, backups).
Develop runbooks and lead operational readiness reviews and post-incident actions.
Leverage enterprise AI capabilities with validation and governance.
Drive reuse-first AI adoption with auditable changes and resiliency focus.
