Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and run an on-prem OpenShift platform hosting containers and VM workloads.

You will own cluster foundations, compute, hypervisor platforms, OS, networking, storage, security, and reliability to enable product teams to deploy workloads safely and consistently. You will partner with hardware, networking, storage, security, and application teams and drive platform lifecycle, automation, and AI-assisted workflows while

Qualifications

• Hands-on OpenShift and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience with OpenShift Virtualization / KubeVirt (VM-on-Kubernetes).
• Strong Linux administration, OS configuration and troubleshooting.
• Infrastructure automation with Ansible, Terraform or GitOps patterns.
• Ability to review AI-assisted recommendations for security, resiliency and auditability.

Responsibilities

• Design OpenShift cluster architectures (on-premises/hybrid) to meet availability, scalability, and security requirements.
• Build and operate OpenShift clusters end-to-end, including install/upgrade, scaling, and VM lifecycle support.
• Support both Kubernetes workloads and VM workloads, incl. capacity planning and HA/DR considerations.
• Own Linux platform fundamentals and cluster node operations.
• Implement and troubleshoot core networking, DNS, load balancing, and security controls.
• Integrate storage for container and VM workloads (CSI, performance, backup/restore).
• Drive reliability through observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, and improvement actions.
• Develop runbooks and reference architectures; lead operational readiness reviews.
• Leverage enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis and documentation.
• Lead reuse-first AI adoption for delivery and automation with traceability.
