Job summary

PerfectServe is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead a team of platform engineers, driving AWS-based cloud infrastructure, IaC, and CI/CD practices. You will mentor engineers, influence architecture, and collaborate across product and security to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

This remote‑first role focuses on building a resilient platform with strong observability, security, and cost controls, while enabling rapid delivery for healthcare SaaS.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of platform engineering experience, including 2+ years leading or mentoring a team (platform, infrastructure, DevOps or SRE), with hiring, mentoring and performance‑management responsibility.
• Extensive hands‑on Kubernetes administration at scale, including ArgoCD, Helm and cluster lifecycle management.
• Expert‑level proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code frameworks; experience defining reusable IaC patterns and modules, and managing CI/CD and GitOps workflows.
• Deep expertise with AWS (networking, compute, storage, security) and containerization in cloud‑native environments.
• Working knowledge of observability, developer‑platform (IDP) patterns and security/IAM principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts and risk to diverse audiences.
• Must be available for on‑call escalation coverage.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of platform engineers with hiring, onboarding and performance management.
• Stay hands‑on as a player‑coach and contribute to architecture decisions and code reviews.
• Contribute to platform roadmap and balance reliability, cost, security and developer experience.
• Guide deployment and evolution of cloud solutions with a focus on AWS and IaC automation.
• Partner with Platform Operations on AI/AIOps observability and automated remediation.
• Ensure systems meet SLIs/SLOs and participate in blameless post‑mortems.
• Collaborate with product, security and other teams to align priorities with business goals.
