Job summary

Ashby is seeking a Platform Engineer/SRE to help scale our infrastructure and empower our product teams. You will own projects end-to-end, dive into scaling challenges, and shape how the entire team interacts with infrastructure.

You’ll work with a stack including TypeScript, Node.js, React, Apollo GraphQL, Postgres, and Redis, building a paved road for engineering teams while balancing reliability and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Platform Engineer or SRE with a strong infrastructure mindset.
• Hands-on software engineer who can own projects end-to-end.
• Experience with scalable systems and secure data handling.

Responsibilities

• Own projects end-to-end and ship with minimal oversight.
• Optimize the homegrown DSL-to-SQL compiler and build tooling for developers.
• Create automated guardrails for data security and privacy.
• Enable features via canary deploys, gradual rollouts and feature flags.
• Define SLOs and implement corresponding SLIs with the team.
• Ensure external service communications have retries and circuit-breakers.
• Build infrastructure for event-driven architecture and data warehouse.
