Speechify is seeking a senior backend engineer to own and evolve the API layer behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics. You will work across iOS, Android, web, and browser extensions, ensuring reliability at scale for millions of users.

You'll pair with product and front-end teams, drive improvements, automate operations, and help shape an asynchronous, autonomous engineering culture. This role is based in the United States and offers impactful work for readers with learning

Qualifications

• Backend development experience using TypeScript/Node.js.
• Hands-on cloud experience with GCP; familiarity with AWS or Azure.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to improve systems.
• Experience with containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own backend APIs for payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics.
• Improve existing services to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Ensure correctness by validating changes with logs and system state.
• Automate repetitive tasks and enable the team to scale.
