Job summary

Speechify in the United States is seeking a backend engineer to design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and the public TTS API. You will collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend architecture ahead of the product.

You should bring proven TS/Node backend experience, cloud expertise (GCP preferred), and a drive to automate and optimize systems for reliability and scale.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TS/Node.
• Direct experience with GCP and cloud platforms.
• Ability to automate and improve systems for reliability.
• Experience with logs, monitoring, and scalability considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
• Improve and optimize services to be faster, cheaper, and harder to break.
• Ensure changes are correct before shipping and leave robust checks in place.
• Automate repetitive tasks and expand repeatable processes across the team.
• Turn one-off work into reusable solutions for the team.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to stay ahead of product direction.
