Job summary

Speechify seeks a Software Engineer, Platform to own the backend powering payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics across web and mobile. You’ll design and optimize critical APIs, ensure accuracy across multi-client billing, and operate in a 100% distributed setting.

You’ll collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep the backend ahead of demand, scale to millions of users, and thrive in an autonomous, asynchronous environment.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TS/Node
• Direct experience with GCP; working knowledge of AWS/Azure
• Ability to automate and optimize backend services

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumptiontracking, and our public TTS API
• Take on services you didn't write and make them faster, cheaper, and harder to break
• Establish that a change is correct before it ships and leave checks that keep it correct
• Automate routine parts of the role and expand what that frees you up for
• Turn work you've done once into work the whole team can repeat
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers building on top of us
• Work with product, mobile, and web to keep backend architecture ahead of where the product is going
