Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer for the Platform to own backend APIs and services behind payments, subscriptions, and the TTS platform. You’ll work across teams to improve performance, reliability, and scalability in a distributed environment.

The role emphasizes autonomy, evaluating changes with a strong focus on correctness, and shipping features that scale across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and web integrations.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Working knowledge of AWS/Azure or similar cloud providers.
• Experience building AI-driven automation for developer workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
• Improve and optimize services for speed, cost, and reliability.
• Validate changes with thorough checks and monitoring, preventing regressions.
