Job summary

CSL Plasma Center is seeking a phlebotomist to collect plasma by performing pheresis and venipuncture, while ensuring donor safety and adherence to SOPs. The role involves donor setup, monitoring, and data recording.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and prior phlebotomy experience; internal CSL employees must complete CSL Plasma DST training; some medical environment exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• External candidates: minimum 6 months experience as a phlebotomist; 12 months experience preferred.
• Minimum 12 months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedure and plasma collection per SOPs, including donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect.
• Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis process in accordance with FDA guidelines.
• Evaluate donor vein performance and adjust to expedite donation time and ensure safety and quality.
• Educate donors on therapeutic plasma products, screening, nutrition, and center policies.
• Monitor donors for adverse reactions and assist staff as needed.
• Record incidents and donor data using the PDA and electronic donor information system.
